PrEP Clinic

RHAC's next scheduled PrEP Clinic (April 3, 2020) will be provided by phone. After that time, the mode of delivery for our bi-weekly PrEP Clinic (i.e. phone appointments vs. in-person appointments) will be determined based on the most current information available about COVID-19 and municipal, provincial and federal health recommendations. We will be sure to share updates accordingly. Thank you for your ongoing flexibility, understanding and support during this time.

PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a medication that can be taken daily to prevent HIV.

The RHAC PrEP clinic is currently held every second Friday. PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a medication that can be taken daily to prevent HIV.

RHAC’s PrEP Clinic offers intakes for the prescribing of PrEP, sexual health counselling, PrEP dispensing, full STI screenings and treatment for PrEP clients and continual follow-up care. We are happy to announce a partnership with Specialty Rx to be able to offer this to the community, with a nurse practitioner, who is accepting clients twice a month.

The Clinic is open to people of all genders and sexual orientations.

RHAC’S PrEP Clinic has launched the PEP-In-your-Pocket (PIP) service. Like the PrEP Clinic, this service is by-appointment only and offered on every other Friday per month. PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is not the same thing as PrEP. While PrEP is taken daily on an ongoing basis to prevent HIV, PEP is a short-term treatment for people after exposure to HIV.
