Using condoms or dental dams can prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs). These sexual health options can support your wellbeing and health while ensuring sex is still fun and exciting.
Use a new condom every time you have sex. This will help protect you from HIV and other STIs (sexually transmitted infections), such as gonorrhea and syphilis. Use only water- or silicone-based lubricants; oil-based lubricants can make a condom break.
We recognize that you may not use prevention options every time you have sex. We get it. We’re here to make sure you have the information and tools you need to make informed choices that work for you.

If You’re Feeling Unsure About Condoms...
That’s totally normal. Here are a few tips:
- Confused? Practice on yourself, partner(s), or even a banana or toy.
- Nervous? Talking it through with your partner(s) can help.
- Embarrassed? It gets easier every time you buy, talk about, or use them.
- Not into it? Try making condoms part of foreplay or masturbation to get more comfortable.
