John Gordon Home (JGH) supports the health and housing of people managing chronic complications from HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C. Seven days a week, we deliver quality care and treatment, including nutritional, medical, and wellness supports.
JGH is complete with all the comforts of home, offering a safe and hopeful environment for residents to address their health needs. From homecooked meals to relaxing lounge and garden areas, we provide a stable living environment as the path to positive health outcomes.
The John Gordon Home offers:
- Transitional care, supportive housing, and palliative care
- Eight fully furnished one-bedroom apartments, each with a private bathroom, living area, and kitchen.
- A respite room with a private bathroom
- 24/7 on-site staff providing nursing care, medication administration, and emergency support
- Daily meals tailored to individual dietary needs
History
JGH was originally opened as a hospice in 1992, providing end-of-life care to individuals during the early years of the AIDS crisis. Our palliative care program continues to treat individuals experiencing the end stages of chronic illnesses with dignity and care. These days, JGH is more often a temporary stop. Thanks to effective treatments, we can support people on their way towards living well and enjoying the next phase of their lives beyond John Gordon Home. No matter how short someone's stay, our loving home leaves a lasting impact
Funding
John Gordon Home receives funding support from Ontario Health West, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care: Housing, and City of London.
